The Da Vinci Robot: the best of innovation
Robotic surgery is a tremendous technological advance in healthcare. The advantages of robotics in certain types of surgery are undeniable: less invasive operations, faster patient recovery, reduced postoperative risks and reduced infection risk.
If in the USA this has become common practice, in Europe, the use of the da Vinci surgical system is growing rapidly and the Toulon Hyères Private Hospital, very invested in the development of minimally invasive surgery, had to acquire of this cutting-edge technology for its patients.
Significant benefits to our patients thanks to minimally invasive surgery
The da Vinci Surgical System provides surgeons with enhanced features, such as high definition 3D vision and a close-up view.
Your surgeon controls the da Vinci system, which converts the movements of his hands into the much finer, more precise movements of small instruments placed inside your body. Your Surgeon, located by your side, has control of the entire procedure by activating the camera and directing the instruments. Although it is often referred to as a "robot," the da Vinci System cannot work on its own; the entire surgery is performed by your Doctor.
Da Vinci technology allows your Doctor to perform complex procedures with just a few small incisions. This allows you to return to a normal life more quickly without requiring the recovery usually associated with major surgical procedures.
The da Vinci surgical system is equipped with the latest technological advances: one of the arms is dedicated to an HD binocular camera, the others “hold” and “manipulate” the instruments necessary for the operation, including an electro-scalpel which allows Ultra-precise tissue incisions using electric current.
The use of the HD binocular camera allows a three-dimensional vision and a zoom (x15) on the areas to be operated on, thus outperforming the human eye and the natural ability of the doctor. The articulated manipulator arms allow movements that the surgeon's arms and hands are not capable of performing.
